Nice quiet area, the park is on the Burrum River near the mouth, the owners have installed permanent fishing rod holders along the river bank and a hand winch to wind your boat up the ramp, most here are fishermen or crabbers. Each afternoon there is sunset drinks and a game of Boulle.
We drove into Hervey Bay to do some sight seeing, walked along the pier at Urangan, had lunch at River Heads and watched the barge to Kingfisher Bay (Frazer Isand) load.
Each night and morning at Burrum Heads thousands of Larakeets assemble in trees around the caravan park, the noise steady builds up with thousands of birds taking to the air, circling the park, it is quite spectacular.
